Noise Suppression System for Hump Yards
Noise pollution is one of the most important factors affecting quality of life. Due to urban growth many railroad hump yards, previously located outside of cities, are now in close proximity to urban neighborhoods, producing loud, high pitched noise when railroad cars go through the retarders. That is why it is important to have an effective solution to combat this problem.
Mashinostroitel Group’s noise suppression system uses a set of nozzles to deliver friction lubricant onto wheel sides to eliminate excess noise from railroad retarders. System uses proprietary friction lubricant, developed specifically for this system, that allows it to reduce noise produced by the retarders to the levels of 80 - 90 dB without reducing its stopping power.
